Rotech TwinR2000LD
This tool is used to simultaneously excavate either side of larger pipes in more shallow water.
The 350 horse power tool can be used in water depths of 1.5 metres to 300 metres. It has water flow rates of up to 4700 litres per second and a water jet speed of up to 11 metres per second. The Rotech TwinR2000LD excavation tool generates two large volumecolumns of water travelling down to the seabed at a velocity of up to 9m/s.The effect of up to 4 m3 of water per second hitting the seabed at thisspeed creates a very strong excavation effect. A real-time sonar mounted on the tool and a remote control system thatcan be used anywhere on board the vessel enables full control of the toolfrom 0 – 100%. The propellers in the tools are counter-rotating giving the complete unit agyroscopic stability when operational in the water. The non-contact method of excavation makes the TwinR2000LD ideal forwork on live pipelines, wellheads and other sensitive structures, in areaswhere multiple pipeline crossings are encountered, etc. The two propeller housings can be set at various spacings and angles toallow work on a variety of pipeline sizes and soil conditions.
